Welcome to the Churches of Stanton-by-Dale, Dale Abbey and Risley.

We are a group, or to give its proper name a benefice, of three, friendly, Christ-centred, Bible-based churches.

Stanton-by-Dale

St Michael and All Angels is a welcoming and lively
Christian community, serving the village of Stanton-by-Dale
and the wider area, enjoying regular Bible teaching, a mix of
contemporary and traditional music, and with a growing
children’s work during the service. The church building
is a grade II listed building which includes a peal of 8 bells.

Usually meeting at 10:45am, but see the ‘What’s On page’
for service times for this week.

Dale Abbey

This small and historic building is utterly unique.
It is a great place to meet together, as generations of
Christians have done before over the centuries. You can
be sure of a warm welcome as you meet in these ancient
surroundings for a traditional service which always has
the Bible at the centre and a friendly and relevant feel.
The church is grade I listed, and until the dissolution
of the monasteries was Dale Abbey’s infirmary chapel.

Usually meeting at 9:00am, but see the ‘What’s On page’
for service times for this week.

Risley

The church building in Risley is over 400 years old, but the church
is alive and would love to welcome you! Each week the services
are family friendly, Bible-based, with children’s provision during
the service. The church is also used on a weekly basis by our local
Church of England Primary School – Risley Lower Grammar School.
It is always a privilege to welcome the community into our building.

What are people in our church saying…

“The best way to live life as a Christian is as part of a supportive, loving family. That family is what we’ve found here at Stanton by Dale for more than 30 years.”

Chris and Charlotte

“Don’t be fooled by the ancient quaintness of our fascinating historic building! Dale Abbey Church is not just a monument to the past and we love being a part of the caring fellowship which meets there each week, as we learn more about serving God and each other.”

Dave and Anne
