Why is our world the way it is? Why is there such a mix of beauty and brokenness in every area of our lives? The answer lies in Genesis 3, as we see how people’s sin leads to judgment that affects the whole of creation – yet even here there are signs of hope that God’s rescue plan is in motion. Join James for the final part of our series in Genesis 1-3, as we look at Genesis 3:14-24.

What are the consequences of rejecting God’s ways and going our own ways instead? Join James as he explores what happens in Genesis 3:7-13 after Adam & Eve choose to eat the fruit – as they experience a ‘tearing apart’ at every level: within themselves, in their relationship with God and in their relationship with each other. But there’s also a glimmer of hope, as we’re reminded that God seeks us out – and would ultimately send Jesus ‘to seek and to save the lost’.

The end of Genesis 2 leaves us with a picture of a world in perfect harmony – but our world today is a far cry from that picture. So what went wrong? Genesis 3 tells us – a fateful decision by Adam & Eve to turn from trusting God to going their own way instead. Join Phil as he explores this pivotal moment in the Bible’s story from Genesis 3:1-6.

In this sermon, we return to our series in the early chapters of Genesis. Join Phil as he recaps some of what we’ve seen already in Genesis 1:1 – 2:17, and looks at God’s provision for Adam & Eve – and for all people since – through the goodness of his plan for marriage and human relationships.
